Born in Thessaloniki, Fotis Siotas has recorded on more than one hundred albums as a violinist, singer and orchestrator. His involvement with music began at age six with the Ayia Triada Children’s Choir. He began studying violin and singing at nine at the State Conservatory of Thessaloniki. Siotas was a member of many local bands, such as Podilates, Boomstate and Evi Evan. In 1993 he began collaborating with Sokratis Malamas and Thanasis Papakonstantinou on recordings and as a live performer. Irene Skylakaki is a London-based singer/songwriter, originally from Athens, Greece.
Her lyrics, autobiographical and oftentimes disarmingly personal, combine with catchy folk-rock melodies, forming songs that allow her to connect with her audience and give back some of the joy and healing that music has brought into her life over the years. Irene’s debut single In the Light reached the top of the Greek iTunes charts and her songs have been featured in TV commercials, as well as film soundtracks. She has performed as a supporting act for artists such as Macy Gray, Jessie Ware, Beirut, Daughter, Cass McCombs, Toploader and Archive. Previous festival performances include the Rockwave, En Lefko Festival, Swanbourne and Release Festival, and in 2012 she was one of the youngest artists ever to perform at the Athens Concert Hall Garden.
Someone Who Isn’t Me (aka S.W.I.M.) is a music project by three women in Athens, Loo, Maria & Gina. They love analogue sounds and toy synths, chaotic guitars and fake strings, female vocals and 80’s drum rythms. They wrote and performed the end titles song “Never Find It” for Athina Rachel Tsangari’s film, “Chevalier” (Best Film Award, BFI London Film Festival). Read More
